China On Top Of Its Game: World’s Largest Solar Farm

China just set up the world’s largest solar farm, and get this: IT FLOATS. The farm has a capacity of 40 megawatts, enough to power 15,000 homes. It occupies 800,000 square meters in an area where coal was once mined.

China is slowly rising toward a goal of promoting green technology and reducing global warming, despite being the world’s largest emitter of carbon dioxide made by man.

So why is this important?

With the global temperature rising 1.53° Farenheight from 1880 to 2012, the earth is getting warmer and warmer. We need to do whatever we can to prevent global warming. The facts add up: global warming is a problem, and we need to fix it.

What else is happening to stop global warming?

Beijing plans to invest $360 billion in green energy, and might even meet its goal of 2030 ten years early! Other countries have also been making positive change, and I encourage to do some reading and find out what other amazing things are happening to lower global warming.

Go out and change the world,

  1. Very interesting. China is currently among the world’s worst polluters, so it’s good to know they are trying to tip the scale the other way.
